Education Hour – 9:45 am-10:45 am Sunday
This Week in Sunday School
Sunday classes will meet in the lower level. This week we begin the story, “The First Sin.”
Sunday’s Readings Bible Study
Every Sunday we hear three Bible readings in the Divine Service. These Bible readings reflect the current church calendar and usually serve as the basis for the sermon. This Bible study helps them come to life. This class meets in the Upper Room, the divided portion of the Large Fellowship Hall.
Matthew Chapter 4.
What does it mean to follow Jesus? That will be the question we return to repeatedly as we study the Gospel of Matthew one chapter at a time. This class is during the education hour between services. Hope you can be with us.
“The Lord’s Prayer” ‘Lord teach us to pray.’ This was the request of Jesus’ disciples. Fresh Brew will use a variety of resources to explore the content and discipline of prayer. Join us for this helpful discussion that will enrich your life as a follower of Jesus. Next Sunday, “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” Fresh Brew meets on Sunday mornings at 7:30 am in the Large Fellowship Hall.
Monday Women’s Bible Study
This study will meet tomorrow, October 14. We will continue our study of Philippians. This is a new study topic and a great time to join. Tomorrow we will continue our discussion of lesson 6 “Transformed in Christ.” We meet at 11:00 a.m.
This Wednesday, October 17, the adult catechism class will look at the Lord’s Prayer that Jesus taught us to pray. We start at 7 p.m. and conclude shortly after 8 p.m.
Men’s Saturday Morning Bible Study
Men enjoy a healthy breakfast. We have been working on a study titled, “Men at Church.” The study is based on a variety of articles from the June/July issue of the Lutheran Witness. It is a great time to join this group. We meet Saturday mornings at 8:30 am. See you next Saturday, October 20. Mike will be out of town, but the Bible study will still meet.
Kids’ Connection During the 11 am Divine Service
This is a time for 3-year-olds through 2nd-grade students during the 11:00 am Divine Service. The lesson today is “Joseph and His brothers” based on Genesis 37:1-28. Children leave for Kids’ Connection after the children’s message and return when the offering is received so that they may participate in a blessing at Holy Communion as well as the close of the worship service.
Bible Faith Milestone: Places Scripture in Hands and Homes
This milestone is designed for 3rd and 4th graders and anyone grades 3-6 who may have missed this faith milestone in previous years. This milestone gathers children and caregivers around God’s Word as they use, read, study, and play in the Bible. In this way, children not only receive Bibles, but are encouraged to use them together with their families. This is a 2-part milestone. The parent/child workshop will be on Sunday, October 21 from 4:30-6 pm. The worship blessing will be on Sunday, October 28.
