BIBLE STUDIES

ST. PAUL SUNDAY SCHOOL welcomes all 3-year-olds through 6th graders to participate in “God’s Squad” beginning at 10:45 a.m. with pre-service singing. Preschoolers-6th grade students participate in the first part of the worship service and after the children’s message they are invited to go to God’s Squad Sunday School. After the worship service parents go downstairs to their children’s classroom to pick up their children.

TODAY IN GOD’S SQUAD: Our children learn that as Jesus came to the Ethiopian (Acts 8:26–40), He comes to us in our weakness, for we cannot by our own reason or strength come to Him. In your family faith talks, discuss how the Holy Spirit calls, gathers, enlightens and sanctifies us, keeping us with Jesus Christ in the one true faith.

FRESH BREW BIBLE STUDY 7:30 a.m. a study called, “Spirit Driven.” In this study we find confidence in the Word of God that our lives are driven forward by the Holy Spirit.

9:45am Education Hour Bible Study Options

· VARIETY HOUR: Bring your children 3-year-old through 6th grade down to the basement activity room for an hour of Bible stories, songs, crafts, and fun.

Follow the signs to the lower level Sunday School Room 4. The studies will be led by Ted Richardson.

· Pastor Gaertner will lead the study today in the Large Fellowship Hall on the topic of health and well-being founded upon the grace of Jesus Christ.

“Mother’s Day Prayer”

Loving God, we thank you for the love of the mothers you have given us, whose love is so precious that it can never be measured, whose patience seems to have no end. May we see your loving hand behind them and guiding them. We pray for those mothers who fear they will run out of love, time, or patience. We ask you to bless them with your own special love. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen

—St. Paul is glad today to give to all mothers a bookmark that has an encouraging prayer on it.—

PLAYGOER UPDATE

Forever Plaid – Encore Theatre, Dexter, Sunday, May 15 @ 3:00 p.m.

One of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory, this deliciously goofy revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950s on the way to their first big concert, and now miraculously revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was.

Singing in the closest of harmony, squabbling boyishly over the smallest intonations and executing their charmingly outlandish choreography with over-zealous precision, the “Plaids” are a guaranteed smash, with a program of beloved songs and delightful patter that keeps audiences rolling in the aisles when they’re not humming along to some of the great nostalgic pop hits of the ’50s.

Please reserve your tickets by May 8 on the sign up sheet hanging on the Playgoer bulletin board in the fellowhip hall or contact Cindy Elowsky, (810) 231-3851 or celowsky@charter.net. Adult $28, Student and Senior $25, Group 10+ $22.
