Spiritual Oversight

Lenten Services.

Beginning Wednesday, March 13 we will have a simple supper at 6 pm followed by a devotional service at 7 pm. May the Lord bless our Lenten reflection.


Christian Education

Sunday School

Classes will meet in the lower level from 9:45-10:45. Classes will study the story, “Mary and Martha.”


Fresh Brew

We have just started a new study on “The Gift of Baptism.” You are invited to join us at 7:30 a.m. for some great Bible study, good conversation and a fresh cup of coffee.


Monday Women’s Bible Study

The Ladies Bible study meets on Monday, March 18 at 11:00 a.m. We will continue our discussion of “Mere Christianity.” If you have the book, read the chapters “The Great Sin” and “Charity” through page 133.


Men’s Saturday Morning Bible Study

Men enjoy a healthy breakfast. We have begun a new study “The Message of James.” This would be a great time to join us. We will meet next Saturday, March 23. Breakfast is served at 8:30 am.


New Bible Study option coming soon!

Ladies are invited to join a Bible study on Thursdays, April 4- May 16, from 1:00-2:30 pm. We will take up the Armor of God, authored by Priscilla Shirer, and grow together in the strength of the Lord as we “struggle against the spiritual forces of wickedness.” Sally Bucrek will facilitate the 7-week DVD based sessions and ladies will continue personal study using a workbook during the week. We had enough requests to have this study at 6:30 p.m. also.


Family Ministry

Kids’ Connection During the 11 am Divine Service

This is a time for 3-year-olds through 2nd-grade students during the 11:00 am Divine Service. The lesson today is “The Widow’s Offering” found in Mark 12:38-44. Children leave for Kids’ Connection after the children’s message and return when the offering is received so that they may participate in a blessing at Holy Communion as well as the close of the worship service.


Early Communion Faith Milestone

The next workshops are March 17, and April 14 from 4:30-6 pm. The Faith Milestone Blessing will be at the Maundy Thursday service on April 18th at 7 pm.


Lent in a Bag

Our Lenten Faith challenge invites families and individuals to focus attention on the Lenten season by using our “Lent in Bag” Devotion items. Lent in a Bag items will be available now.


Upcoming Faith Milestone – Prayer – 1st and 2nd grade

The workshop will be on April 7 and the worship blessing will be on April 14. Watch for upcoming details.


Faith Family Reunion Retreat – Saturday, April 27 from 9 am – 3 pm

All of us have someone in our lives who has strayed away from faith in Jesus Christ. How can we reach out not only to the prodigal, but to the parents, families, and friends of prodigals who struggle to know what to do? Join us for a retreat, here at St. Paul, on these important issues and an introduction to a ministry opportunity that churches everywhere can easily implement. Vacation Bible School – Save the Date

Are you making summer plans? Mark your calendars for our VBS, Miraculous Mission. Dates for 2019 are: July 29 – August 2. VBS Volunteer Training will be held on May 19, 2019.



Today Youth Gathering student and adults gathering for a Bible study, information sharing and planning event during Education hour, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. In bible study we will take a look at the gathering theme through the eyes of the Psalmist. We will also discuss the Dinner Theater and Silent Auction that will take place on May 18.


Hospitality this Sunday after each worship service is being hosted by students attending the National Youth Gathering this summer in Minneapolis. Your generous donations are much appreciated.

Driver’s License Milestone

Driving is a privilege and a responsibility. Through a Faith Milestone your church family will partner with the new driver and parent(s)/guardian(s) to bring God’s grace and goodness to this step toward maturity and responsibility. Today in both worship service we will bless the new driver and the whole family. So, new drivers, if you missed the learning event last Sunday, see Mike. Let’s talk.




Compassionate Care

Open Shop Days

Daisy’s Food Pantry offers open shop days every Wednesday between 1pm-4pm. Our food pantry helps households in our community bridge out of crisis. Families can shop 6 times a year in our pantry. No qualifications or appointments are needed. Please spread the word so we can reach more people in our community.


Red Cross Blood Drive

The Blood Drive is March 19 from 1 pm-6:45 pm. Volunteers and cookies are needed. Appointments can be made online. If you can help, please contact Sheila Mueller at 517-861-6970 or Lori Schonsheck at 248-763-8503.


The Quilters Need Sewers

The Quilters need people who can help sew the tops of the quilts. This can be done at home or join the quilters for conversation while you sew. Contact Julia Childress for more information: 810-231-2331.

This conference is presented by The Center for Worship Leadership. Held on July 24-26, 2019 at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church, 2101 S Hacker Rd, Brighton, MI 48114.

The Summit is presented by the Center for Worship Leadership from Concordia University Irvine (formerly known as Worship Arts Leadership Institute). This conference is intentionally designed to address the needs of worship arts ministry staff, volunteer leaders, team members, pastors, and students preparing for church worker vocations. Through built-in time for one-on-one conversations with friends and presenters/clinicians alike, our hope is that the Summit will give you the opportunity to find answers that will help you and people who can readily support you.

LWML Spring Fling

Ann Arbor Area Zone Rally, Saturday April 13, 2019 at Christ Our King Lutheran Church, 3255 Waterworks Road, Saline, Michigan. Pastries and Registration at 9:00am. 9:30am begins Worship Meeting, Program, Lunch.


Guest Speaker Becky Grossmann has a Masters Degree in Linguistics and is serving the Church in America and in Liberia with Lutheran Bible Translators

Registration Fee: a $5 Registration fee will be collected the day of the event for Becky Grossmann to use to purchase bricks for repair work or help build homes in Liberia.


Free-Will Offering will be collected for the Zone during the event.

Ingathering for Liberian children: Christian story and coloring books, crayons, scissors, and popsicle molds. (A school staff person makes and sells Popsicles to raise money for the school.)

Active Faith

Save the Date! The Sunday, March 24th Strike Out Hunger fundraiser at Pinz Bowling is going to be a great success! The cost per lane is $25 per person or $100 (up to 5 people) and includes a large pizza, soft drink, bowling shoes, and as many games as you and your teammates could play between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. A 50/50 drawing and a silent auction of several donated gift baskets and services from generous business owners and individuals from South Lyon and the surrounding community. Go to activefaithcs.org/events/ to sign up on line or there is a form in the narthex.
