Adult Education Hour
SO, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? Like several of the letters written by the apostle Paul, they begin with a foundation of truth about God. How that truth is lived out in discipleship is the second part of the message. Today during the adult education hour, we will look at the third chapter of the letter of Colossians You are invited and encouraged to join us as the Lord guides us through His Word.
Community Outreach Ministry Action Team has created a plan to reach new homeowners in our community with the love of Jesus in a tangible way. We will be presenting new residents with several gifts and some information about our church and community. We now need members of our church family to come along side of us to present these gifts. We will be offering training on Sunday, August 25 from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. in the Upper Room. However, if there is a call meeting, the training for this day will be rescheduled. A second training opportunity will be offered on Monday, August 26, at 8:00 p.m. Join us to make a genuine difference in our community. This meeting time remains the same.
We have begun a book study on “Not Forsaken” by Louie Giglio. The author does a great job of reminding us we have a wonderful heavenly Father who will not forsake us. Vacation Bible School
Thank you to all our adult and teen helpers!
We celebrated in Vacation Bible School God’s Miraculous Mission as–GOD MADE US–GOD KEEPS HIS WORD–JESUS CAME FOR US–JESUS SAVES US–and JESUS IS COMING FOR US! That is all true! That is all because of our great God! The mission of our Vacation Bible School would not have been possible without–many volunteers who helped in many and various ways–families who brought children–students who learned while having fun. We are so thankful for all these gifts from God and appreciate all that we can do together as His people! We hope you are able to stay after the 11am service (or come back if you are at first service) to be a part of our picnic, games, and fun. Everything is provided. Come hungry!

In Our Community
You are invited
Trinity Lutheran Church for our Meals with a Mission Thursday, August 15 at 6 pm. Our Meals with a Mission program is a way to touch base with our community by helping local community outreach and overseas Missionaries. A simple supper is provided. Our special guests for the evening are Laurence Laban and Patti Griffiths, co-founders of Next Life Foundation, a Christian vocational training center in Tanzania, East Africa. Laurence lives in Arusha, Tanzania and Patti lives in Okoboji, Iowa; only God could orchestrate a ministry developing out of these two followers of Christ. Come hear how the Muslim village of Mbuguni, Tanzania welcomes Next Life Foundation to teach their young people and mamas a trade as they gently share the Gospel and let the Holy Spirit change the hearts of the people they touch.
A Sweet Event to Benefit Pregnancy Help Clinic
“What does the theme “LOVE LIFE” mean? It means we support life in all forms, all ages and at all stages– Yours, Mine, Hers and His! To us, Life is something we love. When you love something you cherish it, are fond of it, have a warmth or tenderness of it, a devotion to it, and an adoration of it. There is nothing negative about love. In fact, love is the absolute opposite definition of anything negative. Love is also the opposite of fear and possesses much power in the very word itself.
The LOVE LIFE Chocolate Walk is a family friendly fundraising event. Walkers stroll through the downtown Howell area and receive a chocolate treat from participating businesses. Activities for children will be set up at the Livingston County Courthouse.
At Pregnancy Help Clinic we feel that Life should be embraced and cherished. All who attend will feel the energy and joy behind this theme. Signing up as a walker and raising funds is a simple way for people of all ages to get involved and actively demonstrate support for the value of human life and make a difference in the lives of women, men, and children in our community.
Funds raised from this year’s Chocolate Walk will provide life-affirming programs that empower the lives of moms, dads, students, and babies within our community every year.
